Reflections and Still Life
"Reflection is the change in direction of a wave front at an interface between two
different media so that the wave front returns into the medium from which it originated."
Reflective surfaces offer quite a challenge to draw accurately,
and a Still Life is a work of art that depicts mostly inanimate subject
matter, typically commonplace objects in an artificial setting. With it's origins in ancient times and most popular
in Western art since the 17th century, still life paintings or drawings allow more flexibility in the arrangement of design
elements within a composition than do other types of subjects. Before 1700 these types of drawings often contained religious
and allegorical symbolism relating to the objects depicted.
