The landscape in Texas is never at its more beautiful than when the countryside is covered in a blue carpet of bluebonnets.  This display occurs in the Spring of each year sometime around Easter, a for a few weeks or until the flowers begin to fade and drop their seed, Texans from all over make a pilgrimmage to the Hill Country and surroundings to take pictures either standing or sitting in the field of color.  The bluebonnet is the state flower of the Lone Star State.
