It's hardly possible to take a bad picture in Butchart Gardens, located near Victoria in British Columbia. There's such a decadent profusion of flowers in bloom that the diversity
is almost overwhelming.
It was a brilliant summer day when I was there with a friend while on a driving trip of Canada and the Pacific
Northwest in August 2009. We saw these yellow iris growing on the side of the pathway and they were such a beautiful
color that I took the picture that became this Pastel and Colored Pencil drawing.
